Just before Georgian Domestic Championship final, new Georgian national team coaching staff members: head coach Richie Dixon, defense coach John Muggleton, backs coach Donald Caskie, technical adviser Michael Bradley and S&C coach Mark Dixon, introduced themselves to the public.

According to George Nijaradze, president of the Georgian Rugby Union, this is the coaching team, which will prepare Georgia for participation in RWC 2011. Head coach Richie Dixon and backs coach Donald Caskie already have the experience of working in Georgia. Australian John Muggleton defense coach, was on Australia national team coaching staff in 1999, when Australia won the title of World Champion. Michael Bradley is Irish; his responsibility in our team is strategic planning. Michael Bradley has 44 caps as Ireland player; during a lengthy period of time he coached the Irish A team, which regularly takes part in Churchill Cup (consequently, Michael Bradley is well familiar with Canada’s and USA’s performance style). Mark Dixon has stayed in Georgia for about 10 months; during this time he successfully coped with S&C coaching of Georgian U19 team. One more coach – S&C specialist Gareth Adamson will join the team next June (at the time being, Gareth Adamson has an ongoing contract with Harlequins R.C., which prevents him from committing himself to the Georgian national team).

In the course of the press-conference, the new coaches expressed their attitude on Georgian national team and its future, stating that with only 10 months ahead of the World Cup, activities of the coaching staff will target fine-tuning of the team strategy and further refining of team performance by transforming its natural strengths into stable advantages.

Georgian national team will play against Canada at the National Stadium on November 20 (kick-off at 14:00) and against USA on November 27. With these two matches ahead and the World Cup just a year away, Georgia coaching staff decided to take a closer look at the best available players and invited 42 players to take part in the autumn training camp.

The list of players assembled is as follows:
