Louie Tonkin, the head coach of Crowshay’s XV: “Our team is selected in the same principle as the team against which you play in Wales back in 2012, but this is completely different squad. We have the best players from the Welsh Principality Premiership, so the strongest team arrived in Georgia. We gather once a year and hold the fixtures. Before leaving for Georgia, we played friendly against Welsh U20 team, which was preparing for World Rugby U20 Championship.

“We have enough information about Georgia, as we have seen national and Emerging Georgia’s matches, we also observed videos of Georgian U20 team during the World Rugby U20 Trophy. We know that you have strong forwards, so we selected our squad according to this.”

Emerging Georgia Match-day squad with one change

With one change in Emerging Georgia squad: Due to neck injury received during U20 trophy the hooker Badri Alkhazashvili will need some ten days for recovery, so the coaching staff called for Giorgi Tedoradze instead of him, (RC Te’ Be’ eS).

Levan Maisashvili, Emerging Georgia head coach: ‘During the preparation for the game, uncertainty obstructed us. We knew we were going to play against U21 side in the first match, so, we began to select the guys with this principal. The core of the team must have been U20 team, who played in Portugal.

‘Despite we added a few experienced players, we still have a young team with average age of 23. There are also couple of Georgian internationals, for example, Givi Beriashvili, Emerging Georgia’s skipper and Jaba Bregvadze, who has just recovered from the injury and will play for us. Beside this, we let some of the national team candidates to rest.”

Tomorrow's match will run under the UN Women Secretary General's Campaign to End Violence against Women.

‘We join the UN Women Campaign to end violence against women and girls and our match will also be devoted to this. Violence especially against women is unacceptable. It is our duty not to be indifferent to such kind of facts.”

Givi Berishvili, Emerging Georgia captain: ‘We didn’t have too much time, but I think we properly prepared for this game and this is the merit of coaches. They planned the trainings in such way, that we did a lot of work in a small time frame. The fixture will be tense. There is an experienced team against us. If we managed to bring the coaches’ instructions onto the pitch, everything will be fine. It’s my first time to be the team’s captain, which is a big responsibility. I'm happy for such trust and I’ll try to justify the hopes of the coaches. "
